What is Euro?

When the year 2002 began, 12 European countries adopted a new currency called Euro. This currency will now be the only currency that will be accepted, exchanged or will buy things in 12 countries namely Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Finland, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Greece. You may remember that 15 European countries had earlier come together to make a European Union (EU) and European Common Market. Among them were the 12 countries mentioned and England, Sweden and Denmark. But these three countries have not adopted the Euro as their currency. European countries had frequent wars in the past. This had led to much death and destruction. For the last 50 years, they have realised that they can ensure peace by coming together. They have now opened their borders for easy movement of people, free trade, more exchanges in culture and education. Finally they thought if they had one currency, it will make it easy for their people to do more business, lose less money when it is exchanged on borders and simplify calculations. So they have come up with Euro. It is guessed that it will be the second strongest currency after the US Dollar. Now Euro is the only currency being used by 307 million people in 12 different countries. Their own currencies like Francs of France, Mark of Germany, Lira of Italy and Pesetas of Spain are out. They have minted 50 billion coins and 14.5 billion notes of Euro for exchange during the first two months of the year. There are 66 Muslim countries. Among them, 22 speak Arabic. And among them, six are oil-rich Arab Sheikhdoms. But they are yet to unify their currency. If done, their unified Dinar or Riyal will also be very popular and strong.

The City of Blues

Some cities are dominated by a specific colour which penetrates their appearance. For example, Florence is defined by the terracotta red of its nested roofs. Or like Lisbon which is called the white city of the Atlantic. So how about Abu Dhabi? Once you leave the bustling downtown streets and take a cruise down the backwater, you will discover that indeed the city is immersed in its own colour. The Abu Dhabi skyline appears as a stretched silhouette of high rising towers caught between the marine blue waters of the Arabian Gulf and the azure sky. It is the colour of the two elements - the water and the sky, which defines the city’s look. On a misty or humid day, every building seems to be wrapped in a watery transparent blue which merges into the shades of the ocean and the sky. The combination of light and water creates never-ending shades of blue giving Abu Dhabi its particular look. One can find them in street signs, tiles, flowers, glass windows and doors.

Am I A Terrorist?

They call my people blood-thirsty terrorists,
blowing up buildings and planes with dynamite,
tied to their chests, killing civilians by the
hundreds, but am I a terrorist?
True, some of my people,
of names similar to mine,
do act violently in despair,
when their human rights are stolen,
when their suffering and plights are ignored,
in the refugee camps of Sabra and Chatala,
but am I a terrorist?
Islam, the religion of Submission,
teaches Muslims to respect life,
“If anyone had killed one man
except in lieu of murder and mischief
it is as if he killed the whole mankind”
same verse in Torah and Quran too
by the same God
how could I be a terrorist?
Prophet Mohammad, Peace be upon him
was a mercy to mankind,
he cared for the poor, elderly and sick,
even if not from his faith,
he stood in respect for a funeral procession
of a Jew, he let a cat take a nap on his robe,
not to disturb her, he cut his robe,
he told Muslim armies not to hurt women and kids,
sick and old, cut trees or kill animals just for fun,
I love him so much,
how could I be a terrorist?
but why do they call us terrorists?
why not call the IRA, Red Army, Tamil Tigers
Militant Hindus, Israeli Militant or
Serbians terrorists?
No, the term is reserved for Muslims only,
and I am a Muslim,
I remember Serb soldiers came to my house,
they killed my father and my big brother too,
I miss them so much,
They raped my mom and my sister too,
I loved them so much,
Then they burned my house, my books and toys
too, and they call us terrorists.
I got scared, and fled into the woods,
joined a caravan going to the border,
migrating from oppression to a land of peace
and freedom,
I have walked two days and climbed a mountain,
I am hungry and thirsty, tired and sick,
My legs are weak and my feet are bleeding
unable to walk anymore,
do I look like a terrorist?
I am not a terrorist,
I am a Muslim
, seeking love, peace and justice
My name is Mehmet Poturvic
I am a 6 year old from Kosova
Dear God, please help me and my people.
“You alone I worship, from you alone I seek help”

Miracle Medicine - the Elixir of Life

Top Doctors have revealed that the combination of garlic, cider, vinegar and honey is a wonder drug that can cure everything from cancer to arthritis. This miracle home remedy that hardly costs much a day is a super way to fight just about any affliction. Experts have verified that this health-restoring trio of garlic, vinegar and honey can wipe out both common and uncommon ailments. Successes include Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, asthma, high blood pressure, hemorrhoids, infertility and impotence, toothaches, obesity, ulcers and many other diseases.

In a study of arthritis victims, it was found that a daily dose reduced the pain by 90%. A daily dose has proved to be a powerful fat destroyer and weight reducer. Cholesterol levels plunged on an average from 237.4 to 221.4 after volunteers consumed 50 grams of garlic and four ounces of butter. The study proved that adding garlic to your diet could neutralise the dangers associated with high fat foods. Garlic blocks agents that cause cancer of the breast, colon, esophagus and skin. People who eat a lot of garlic reduce the risk of stomach cancer. Patients given this miracle drink before breakfast showed a remarkable reduction in high blood pressure and cholesterol in less than a week.

People who took the additional vinegar and honey drink, everyday were more vigorous, had fewer colds or infectious diseases and in general were healthier than those who did not. Honey not only makes your daily dose taste better, the sweet stuff also aids in your body’s ability to absorb the medical properties of the powerful ingredients. Garlic provides a storehouse of vitamins and minerals, but what excited researchers most is the growing evidence that an enzyme present in large amounts in garlic stimulated the immune system.

Recipe: In a bowl mix together: one cup of cider vinegar (use only organic cider vinegar), one cup of honey and eight cloves of chopped Garlic. Place the combination in a blender and mix on high speed for one minute. Pour into a jar or glass container and seal. Leave in the refrigerator for five days. Normal dosage is two teaspoons in a glass of water or fruit juice (Grape or Orange Juice is best), before breakfast, a second dose if desired can be taken in the evening.

Here is a snazzy calculator which will normally be sitting on the icon tray of the Windows, but pops up at the flick of a click and remains at the top always till it is minimised. This is a simple and attractive calculator, the appearance of which can be configured to suit the aesthetic taste of the user. This calculator has more features than the one provided in the Microsoft Windows. This program is available free from the internetsite, The second program is a calender which again sits on the icon tray and comes up on the screen whenever it is clicked. This is a simple calendar which is very useful when one has to check the dates while working on different programs.
