We are group of Indian expatriate workers working in Saudi Arabia. One of our pastimes here was watching Zee and Sony TV. We are very much disappointed to note the alarming rise of programmes in these two channels which portray Muslims as terrorists, gang leaders and anti social elements. We Muslims and non-Muslim Indians (A group of 150 here in Riyadh,) have decided to stop watching these channels and got them disconnected from our cable network as a protest. It is totally unfair and illogical to portray a community as anti social elements which has played a major role in winning independence for India and have continued to play a significant role in the development of the country thereafter. We as Muslims and Indian citizens are deeply hurt by this negative attitude of the Media. I would appreciate if “Islamic Voice” can convey this message to all the secular minded people of India so that this misrepresentation of Muslims is stopped from spreading.

A better course for the group would have been to document the programmes with exact date, timings, titles, characters, content, implied message etc. in order to develop a cogent case to be presented to the Zee and Sony authorities. Secondly, boycotting of the channel is only half the solution. Muslims everywhere should pay attention to setting up media and countering the biases that the Western media or its appendages in the Developing countries spin and spread.
India and Pakistan are facing a severe drought in many state, particularly in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Sind, and Baluchistan. Will some scientist find out the reasons of the disaster? During may 1998 we had exploded the bombs in the abdomen of the India and Pakistan. Is that nuclear test responsible for the calamity. Water seems to have passed away through the other end of the soil, as pointed out by our genius humanist R. K. Laxman.
M. I. Ansari,
I have been a regular reader of Islamic Voice for the last couple of years and now I read it in the World Wide Web too. It gives me profound pleasure and great pride as your publication does present serious discourses on social, economic, political matters happening nationally as well as internationally. Apart from that, Islamic Voice also includes valuable fact sheets, useful information of importance to the Islamic Ummah in a meaningful form to its readers. I wish the very best for your publication and may Allah guide you to continue this scholarly mission for an indefinite future.

I am really happy and interested in your column. Hope I could get messages through e-mail about religion of Islam.
Catherine D. Reyes,
I am highly impressed with your articles. I request you to emphasise on unity of various masses especially Muslims, Christians and people of secular minds from among the Hindus against the Sangh Parivar and the saffronisation efforts. This becomes the order of the day in view of the atrocities against the Muslims and Christians alike. I pray that your efforts on this will be rewarded by Allah.

Indeed it is a good publication. I was wondering if the same is available in Hindi/Urdu. So that those who are not English knowing can also be benefited. More over you may send complementary copies of Islamic Voice to various public libraries for wider coverage.
Mustahsan Usmani Raja,
Though your coverage is quite comprehensive, a section on youth and profiles of Muslim officers, executives, men with achievement etc. would be desirable.

I searched entire internet for some information on Shah Waliullah Dehlavi, but could not get anything. Can some of your readers help me in finding his teachings, approaches and Dawah work.
I appreciate Islamic Voice endeavours in bringing to light various aspects of Islam. We are constantly fed with the venom that our past has been dark, marked with wars and rivalries. It would be desirable to focus on predecessors. I would like to know if there is any organisation which works on similar lines so that I ;can join them in their efforts. Desirous persons can contact me.
