The author Justice A. Abdul Hadi, has brought out the book “Qur’an is word of God” spread over 155 pages divided into 26 chapters, wherein the spirit behind the Qur’anic verses has been brought out with utmost care and clarity. The author, Judge sab, as he is popularly known, rightly declares that who ever ponders over the revelation, with a free mind and open heart will never be deprived of its benefits. The more deeply one contemplates over its verses, the more benefits will accrue to him.
In this book attempts have been made remarkably to counter the western onslaught on Islam, reducing it to be associated with a man namely Prophet Muhammad r instead of if being a heavenly revelation. The very title of this book clearly indicates what exactly the author tries to impress upon the readers with sound arguments based on relevant verses of the Holy Qur’an.
The Qur’anic message got by un-lettered Prophet, the might and wisdom of first five revealed verses, the prophecies of Qur’an which were proved later and revelation of mind-boggling intricate scientific phenomenon and the like are dealt with in the early chapters of the book. Dr. Maurice Bucaille is widely quoted from his book “The Bible, the Qur’an and Science” to establish the truth of Qur’anic verses on such scientific facts which could be proved only in the present times. Qur’an deals with a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines from Astronomy to practicable Physics and from biological sciences to advanced fields of medical science like embryology etc. With the sound proof of scientific facts which have been covered so far in different branches of science, attempts have been made in the right direction, to establish that “Qur’an is the word of God”.
The author has a strong point to support his claim when he argues that if the Qur’an were to be from a human source namely the Prophet, he would not have been criticised, shown his limitations, made to wait for arrival of revelation etc. in the Qur’an. Some of the facts from Qur’an, brought out excellently in this book are par excellence, literary style and sweet melody in recitation of Qur’anic verses, free from any minute discrepancy, remain intact for more that 1500 years uptill now, exceedingly surprising mathematical order, accountability for every human soul, transformation wrought by Qur’an being unparalleled in the history of the world etc.
The issue dealt with by the author which may invite serious arguments both for and against is the modernistic view of the universe, closed and complete in itself and therefore the idea of any intrusion, into it of anything far beyond or the idea of any intrusion of its regular law is unthinkable whereas for a Muslim there is nothing irrational in miracles forwarded by Prophets or otherwise according to the command of Ever-Living-Lord. The eye-catching aspect of the book is 12 commandments rightly called ‘pearls of wisdom’. The mention of the effect of this message of Almighty swept off the most deep-rooted evils, welded the warring elements of Arabian society into one nation, and the ignorant people transformed into the foremost torch bearers of knowledge and science which is no less than a miracle in the annals of the history of mankind.
In conclusion, I compliment the author for his noble efforts to establish the fact that ‘Qur’an’ is the word of God’ without any doubt and I feel every person who wishes to know about the authenticity of the Holy Qur’an should read this book.
