Muslim Library completes 95 Years
The Muslim Library has completed 95 years of service and has stepped into the 96th year of its existence. The Muslim Library is situated in its own two storied building at No. 8, adjacent to Yejman Mohd. Ali Hall, Veerapillay Street (Jumma Masjid Road Cross), Shivajinagar, Bangalore. It is governed by the Muslim Library Trust, Bangalore which takes care of all its requirements and needs. A unique organisation of its kind, the Library is equipped with the holy Quran, translation and tafseer of the Quran in easy Urdu, English and Kannada languages. Ahadith and translations of Hadith, biographies of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) Imams, life and work of great Sufi saints/scholars/scientists of Islam, old, rare and new books on Islamic history, general history, role of Muslims and their great contributions to the Independence of India, Islamic literature and great works of Urdu prose and poetry. It all started in the year 1912 by few like-minded people of the community. Their vision was to make the world of young and growing generation of Muslims to understand their religion in the true sense.
In the general body meeting held on July 2006, Mr Qamar Khader Hussain and T. J. Afzal Baig were elected as President and Secretary respectively, of the Library for the years 2006-2008.
