Jam-Packed Ovation for Jame-Ul-Uloom
Bangalore

Walking through the crowded streets of a market in Morocco.

Sitting on a smiling camel in the desert of Arabia.

Chasing round the bamboo tree of bandon Indonesia,

Gathering brightly coloured leaves in the forest of Canada,

Napping neath the date palm shade under blue skies of Tunisia,

Planting rows of beans and maize on a small farm in Uganda

Laying back to count the stars from somewhere in Afghanistan.

Oh, Oh! Sing children of the world come together and hear the call

Sing children of the world, Islam will unite us all.

Subhan Allah, Walhamdullilah, Wallahu Akbar

This song kept echoing even after the jam-packed Town Hall in Bangalore was empty. Sung by little girls in super white hijabs, this song marked the climax of the Prize Distribution programme to meritorious students, organised by the Jame-Ul-Uloom Group of Institutions, last month. Dressed in green blazers and green-striped ties, the boys of the Jame Ul-Uloom Residential Boys School played graceful hosts to the invitees and visitors to the programme. “The success story of the Jame Ul-Uloom Group of Institutions under the management of the Jamia Masjid and Muslim Charitable Fund Trust, can be attributed to the unity among the Trustees and the Management,” said Maulana Riazur Rahman Rashadi, Imam and Khateeb, Jamia Masjid and Muslim Charitable Fund Trust. The Jame-Ul-Uloom Group has the BCA, Pre-University Composite College, High School, Pre-Primary, Tailoring Centre for Girls, Shobe-e-Hifz for boys and girls, Calligraphy for girls and Diploma in Computer, under its wing. The Jame-Ul-Uloom Residential Boys School at Bannikuppe comprises the English Medium High School, Urdu Medium Primary School, Pre-University College and Industrial Training Institute. Over 3,000 students form part of the Group, which includes over 100 students from Kolkata.

While the crowd cheered for the award winners who went back home with Cups and Rolling Shields, distributed by minister for Primary and Secondary Education, government of Karnataka, Ramalinga Reddy, there were moments of quiet reflection when Zamir Ahmad Khan, MLA, Chamarajpet, released a book authored by Maulana Riazur Rahman Rashadi, titled-Al-Asma Al-Husna
