Jamal Mohammad College, Trichy: MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance on the anvil
Trichy:
The Jamal Mohammad College here would introduce a two year MBA programme in Islamic Banking and finance in collaboration with the Inceif Global University, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from the news academic year. The college recently received A grade from National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) by scoring 3.6 on a scale of four. Principal Shaikh Muhammad informed Islamic Voice that the college is likely to start a two year diploma course in hotel management and catering for students who have failed in PUC. It already runs a bachelor’s course in this discipline. The course is to be sanctioned by the Government of Tamilnadu.

The college will also start a 3-year Ph.D programme in Management Studies and Computer Studies. Career Guidance Programmes by CIGMA
Bangalore:
The Cigma Foundation held career counseling and guidance courses in Bangalore, Gulbarga, Bidar, Hassan, Raichur and Mangalore between April 11 and 19 making the students aware of the career opportunities and ways to make a judicious selection of one’s career. The lectures by career counselor Ameen e Mudassar focused upon aptitude, interest and the current market trends. They also provided information on various scholarships and stipends available for the students. The target audience was students poised to pass SSLC and PUC exams this year. The programmes were organized in association with Al Sharay P.U. College in Gulbarga, Shaheen P.U. College in Bidar, EFA Foundation in Raichur, Career Guidance & Information Center in Mangalore and Students Islamic Organization in Hassan. Participants expressed their satisfaction at the information provided by the counselors. Fathimah Zahra of Jame ul Uloom PU College in Bangalore said the multiple opportunities existed for the students today. B. Roopali of Gurunanak Indipendent College, Bidar said the success was not confiened to only a few careers. Sahfi Ahmed of Al Sharay PU College, Gulbarga said the counseling sessions helped her to assess her ability and personality in a better light. Anjuman Engg. College Campus goes Wi-Fi
Bhatkal:
The Anjuman Engineering College will introduce MBA course from the new academic session. It has also applied for starting a polytechnic. The College recently made its campus Wi-Fi and also set up digital library at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh. B. S. Abdur Rahman University, Chennai: Hostel, Admn. Block Commissioned
Chennai:
The B.S.Abdur Rahman University here recently commissioned its administrative block consisting of nine floors built at a cost of Rs. 42 crore. The newly conferred status of the deemed university on the formerly B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College has also led to addition of a new hostel to accommodate 1000 boy-inmates.


Anjuman College to have PGDCA
Bhatkal:
The Anjuman Arts College here will introduce the post graduate diploma in computer application (PGDCA) course from the new academic year. It will have an intake of 30 boys. It will be under self financing scheme.
Farooqia Dental College to begin MDS course
Mysore:
The Farooqia Dental College here will start MDS course in six disciplines with intake of three students from the new academic session this year. It has a BDS programme since 1992.


Sana Group of Institutions, Hubli: Offshore campus set up in Mauritius
Hubli:
The Sana Group of Institutions has set up an off-shore campus in Port Louis in Mauritius where a Diploma and a Certificate course in Nursing has been started. The Group has formed a tie-up with Dr. Patrick a leading physician in the islands to start the courses.

The Group chairman M. M. Malagi informed Islamic Voice that it is likely to start M.Ed courses in the Sana College of Education where it already runs B.Ed and D.Ed courses.

The Sana Educational and Charitable Trust has also diversified its activities and taken up micro credit scheme where 1,200 women have formed 100 groups to take up various economic activities. It recently received funds to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh from Rashtriya Mahila Kosh of the Union government to carry forward the micro finance schemes.
C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam: New Principal takes over
Melvisharam:
The C. Abdul Hakeem College here is adding a new hostel for 200 boy-inmates which is likely to be commissioned by the new academic session. The College appointed Dr. Muhammad Yusuf as the new principal. Dr. S. Z. Abrar Ahmed has assumed the charge as the new Correspondent of the college.


HMS to add Civil, Mechanical Disciplines
Tumkur:
The HMS Institute of Engineering here will add mechanical and civil engineering disciplines to the existing four disciplines in BE from the new academic year. Principal T. R. Jagadish informed Islamic Voice that the new disciplines would have an intake of 60 each. HMS group of institutions als run a college of pharmacy and nursing and a polytechnic and an arts and science college. Mohd. Sathak Engg. College to start ME courses
Chennai:
The Mohd. Sathak A. J. Engineering College is likely to introduce Master of Engineering (ME) courses in Cad-Cam, Power Electronics and Applied Electronics, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and BE Instrumentation from the new academic year starting in September this year. Principal Dr. J. Hameed Hussain informed the Islamic Voice that the college campus recently added two boys hostels for accommodating 800 students and a women’s hostel with capacity of 100 girl-students. B.A (Modern English) in M. U. College
Ambur:
The Mazharul Uloom College here will start BA in Modern English and B.Sc Information System management under self-financing scheme from the 2009-10 academic year. The college received B+ ranking by NAAC this year. An associated institution AMES College of Education, which was set up last year has now become member of the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University which was set up this year by the Tamil Nadu government.
