Islamic Coins found in Europe
Two coins from the earlier Islamic period, which were discovered in Europe recently prove trade relations between the regions in the past. The silver coin, excavated from Gotland, Sweden, comes from the period of Haroon Al Rasheed (800 AD). More than 100,000 similar coins were found in different parts of Sweden. The gold coin was discovered near Khazan in Russia. It comes from the period of Khalifa Al Muqthadir in the 10th century.
