Center for Islamic Studies (ISAM) invites applications for visiting post-doctoral scholars for independent research projects.
ISAM offers visiting scholars the opportunity to undertake short or long term academic studies in Islamic, Middle Eastern and Ottoman Studies in the world-heritage city of Istanbul, Turkey.
ISAM Visiting Scholar Program In addition to its full time and part time faculty and fellows, ISAM also houses visiting scholars from different countries. The Visiting Scholar Program is established to accommodate scholars who wish to use ISAM facilities to study and conduct research. The Center extends its resources on a selective basis in the spirit of institutional collegiality and foster advancement of knowledge and research. Visiting Fellowships are awarded bi-annually to enable scholars to spend short or extended periods (one to three months) for independent study and research at ISAM.
Application Requirements Applicants must submit a complete application package, consisting of:
1- A cover letter, consisting of your request, project title, and contact information.
2- An outline of the applicant’s research proposal (maximum 3 pages).
3- The period of time during which the applicant plans to be in and affiliated with the Center.
4- Curriculum vitae.
5- Two letters of recommendation.
