Qabil And Habil
The Two Sons of Adam
|
The pinnacle of marital bliss was realised when Adam and Hawwa (Eve) witnessed the births of their first children, a set of twins. Adam was a devoted father and Hawwa a contented mother. The twins were Qabil (Cain) and his twin sister. Later Hawwa gave birth to second set of twins, Habil (Abel) and his twin sister.
The family enjoyed the food and fruit of the Earth provided by their Lord. The children grew up to be strong and healthy young adults. Qabil tilled the land and Habil raised cattle.
The time arrived when the two young men desired life partners. This was part of Allah’s plan for mankind and from nations with different cultures and colours. Allah revealed to Adam that he should marry each male child to the twin sister of the other. Adam instructed his children according to Allah’s plan. But Qabil was displeased with the partner chosen for him, for Habil’s twin sister was not as beautiful as Qabil’s.
Since the beginning of time physical beauty appears to have been a factor for the attraction between men and women. This attraction caused Qabil to ENVY his brother, Habil. Qabil rebelled against Allah’s command and refused to accept his father’s advice.
ENVY (Hasad)
Envy according to the dictionary: From the Latin Invidia. Mixture of pain and anger; feeling of displeasure about the prosperity and happiness of someone else; desire to have what others have.
• For journalist Zuenir Ventura:
The verbs associated to it (envy) are corrosion and destruction. At the same time, it is necessary to see envy as a human reaction. All the theories about envy reckon that the best way to fight against it is to assume that everyone feels it, in different degrees.
• Envy and ethics:
For the scientist and researcher Dr William M. Shelton, envy is a reaction provoked by losers, who seek to evade reality by hiding behind a crusade seeking to reinstate “moral values,” “noble ideas,” and “social justice.” The situation becomes dangerous when the school system begins to develop in the student the conditioning for despising all those who manage to be successful, always attributing any success to corruption, manipulation and moral degradation. As the pursuit of success is something inherent to the human condition, the students end up in a schizophrenic process of hating exactly that which would lead them to happiness, thereby increasing the anxiety crises, and reducing the capacity to innovate and improve society.
God Most High says, “Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn from the evil of that which He has created,” and then He says, “And from the evil of the envier when he envies” (113:1 and 5). So He concludes the ‘chapter He made as a plea for protection with the mention of envy.
It is reported on the authority of Ibn Mas’ud that the Prophet (Pbuh) commented, “There are three things at the root of all sin. Guard yourselves against them and beware of them. Beware of pride, for pride caused Iblis to refuse to prostrate before Adam. Beware of greed, for greed caused Adam to eat of the tree. And beware of envy, for it was from envy that one of the two sons of Adam killed his brother.”
Lord has forbidden only abominations, those that are apparent and those that are within” (7.33). it is said that “Those that are within are envy.” It is written somewhere that “The envier is an enemy of My blessing.” And it is said, “The Marks of envy appear in you before they appear in your enemy.”
It is said, “Among the signs of the envier are that he flatters others when he is with them, slanders them when he is apart from them, and savors their misfortune when it befalls them
It is said: “The envier confounded when he sees in another a blessings and rejoices when he sees a fault.”

'A bike for the Kids'
By Azmathulla Shariff
|
Mohammed Hashim Khan son of a Mechanical Engineer Mohammed Ayub Khan has transformed 60 cc engine Sunny two-wheelers into amazing ‘Bikes for the Kids’ and is planning a big surprise for kids in near future. Hashim Khan who owns a two wheeler accessories business got immersed in love with creating new designs on two wheels.
Meet this young enthusiast, whose passion for creating unique designs on bikes making waves among the children of Bangalore city these days. He is a graduate in Bachelor in Business Administration. Deeply pampered by the mother, Sufi Khan both in terms of moral and financial support needed for his venture in conceiving and creating unique designs on motor bikes. His passion grew in modifying a Sunny scooteret with a 60 cc engine a two wheeler exclusively for the needs of the children, for those who want to zoom in a motored bike. Mohammed Hashim says “there are many bikes available for the needs of the elders at the same time nothing is available in this segment specially designed anything for the kids. So I caught up with an idea to design a bike exclusively for the kids”.
I conceived the idea a month ago to design and develop a bike for the kids and now Alhamdulillah after a months of relentless schedule I am able to produce a ‘Kid Bike’. He now has on hand orders for six more such bikes from various corners of the city. This vehicle gives on an average 30 Kms per litre of petrol.
He uses fiber as a basic component in modified models, as this component is durable and risk free, keeping in mind the safety of the kids. The fiber works quite well with ‘Kids Bike’. The vehicles designed by him cost anything between 15-20 thousand. The graphics and colours are purely custom made. While the entire body structure is the brain child of Mohammed Hashim Khan.
At 27 he is very ambitious, he wants to design like the ‘DC’ (Dilip Chabria) creations in the days ahead. There are four different type of ‘Kids Bikes’ three being the super bike model and the last a motor cross design.
He uses his pen and pencil to conceive the design on paper later it is given to the fabricator who modifies it on metal and on fiberglass. After the tedious work what comes out is a fine ‘Kid Bike’.
He has two garages one at Siddiah Road and another being in Ilyasnagar. Both these places he uses to give structures to his dreams of something new each time and every time.

The Easy Way in Qur'an
|
One of the terms used by the Qur’an during the early Makkan period to describe Islam was Al-Yusraa, or ‘The Easy Way’. This is simply because Islam was, and is the natural way of life. Indeed, whatever is natural for human beings should be easy for them in every way, hence cause them to gravitate towards it easily, and consequently bring harmony, peace and tranquility to their lives. Since the Qur’an is the book upon which the Islamic way of life is built, then the Qur’an has to be easy to understand and follow-it.
This view that Islam is easy to understand and practice is one, which is derived from the primary sources of Islam. In the Qur’an, Allah comforts us by continuously reassuring us that He desires for us ease not hardship, despite the seemingly formidable trials and tribulations that we may sometimes face. He says:
‘God desires ease for you, and desires not hardship’ (2:185);
Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) has advised us: ‘This Deen or way of life is easy But if anyone overdoes it, it gets the better of him. So keep to the right course, approximate to perfection, rejoice, and ask for help in the mornings, the evenings, and some of the latter part of the night’ (Bukhari).
This small booklet will be of immense assistance, to all those who want to understand ISLAM - The Easy Way.

Servant of God
|
The irony is that man is in the grip of his demanding self and is a slave to the material world, but he is not aware of it. Modern society promotes ‘individuality’, which in reality is ‘slavery’ to materiality, yet it ignores and/or shuns servanthood to God, which is the true purpose of Creation. It is only through servanthood to God that man can actually be freed from servanthood to material life. One cannot be a servant of God and a servant to oneself at the same time.

Whom Allah Dislike
|
And if Allah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth. But He gives them respite to an appointed term, and when their term comes, then verily Allah is Ever All-Seer of His Slaves. (Al-Fatir, 35:45)
And as for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and do righteous good deeds, Allah will pay them their reward in full. And Allah does not like the zalimun (Polytheists and wrong-doers). (Al-Imraan 3:57).
Worship Allah and join none with Him (in worship), and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbor who is near of kin, the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful (An-Nisaa 4:36)

The Most Beautiful Names of Allah
Al-Muqaddim - (The Promoter)
|
Allah promotes to higher positions the servants whom He loves for being the staunchest in faith and gives them a rich reward. “ And those foremost in faith will be the ones brought nearest to Allah.” (56: 10-11).
In this life, Allah chooses to arrange people and matters as He wishes and for a purpose known only to Him. “ We have apportioned to them their livelihood in the present life and raised some of them above others in rank, so that some of them may take others into their service and Your Lord’s mercy is better than all their hoarded treasures.” (43:32)
