In Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11, Number 589:Narrated Abu Huraira (ra) Allah s Apostle said, If the people knew the reward for pronouncing the Adhan and for standing in the first row (in congregational prayers) and found no other way to get that except by drawing lots they would draw lots, and if they knew the reward of the Zuhr prayer (in the early moments of its stated time) they would race for it (go early) and if they knew the reward of Isha and Fajr (morning) prayers in congregation, they would come to offer them even if they had to crawl.

A leading TV channel (INDIA TV – May 17) exposed desecration of Kotla Mubarakpur Tomb and Masjid. Young couples were found in compromising positions. Besides, a large part of the monument is being used as a garbage dump. The roof of the Masjid has been taken over by the adjoining houses. One part of the Masjid is being used for waste disposal and the entire campus has become virtually inaccessible to visitors.


The monument of Kotla Mubarakpur Tomb, a precursor of the Lodi Tomb, was built in 1434 with a Masjid adjacent to it. It is a protected monument under the care of the Archeological Survey of India. But because of neglect of ASI and the Police the place has seemingly turned into a ‘free-sex zone’.


The Masjids were built for the purpose of offering prayers. Hence performance of Namaz needs to be restored. The whole surrounding is required to be cleaned up. In the larger interest of public Delhi Waqf Board should demand the restoration of the Masjid.

The article by Hanif Lakdawala ‘Muslim Youth Suffering from Identity Crisis’ throws in depth light on the wants of the Muslim youth. Such a through researched writing will make the Muslim masses realise their identity as a individual. Once again thanks to Mr. Hanif Lakdawala for such a valuable input for Islamic Voice.

Jamaat-e-Islami got a new Jammat Chief last month. The Jammat search for a effective leader ended with the elevation of Syed Jalaluddin Umri, he is an intellectual in all respects. What remains to be seen that how far this man delivers when it comes to then needs and wants of the Muslim masses.

The recent bomb blast in historic Mecca Masjid in a peaceful city of Hyderabad needs to be condemned. The city is one among the few cities in India where communal harmony prevails at all times. Both the Central Government and the Government of Andhra Pradesh should initiate measures to conduct a free and fair enquiry to apprehend the culprits responsible for the dastardly blasts in a place of worship.

Alhamdulillah Islamic Voice has completed a long innings. More colour pages shold be incorporated in order to look more interesting to the readers. Often we find more of the advertisement and less of the reading material. More pages with graphics should also be introduce in Islamic Voice to be more attractive.
