Nobody Likes to Wake Me Up
By Ayesha Asif

First they ring bells
Then mum sings a song
And sister dances along
Dad plays a trumpet

But I don’t wake up.
Sister takes off the blanket
Mum tickles me
Dad switches on the T.V
But still I don’t wake up.

Sister plays her recorder
Mum rings the bell
And dad brings a saucepan
And bangs it on my head!

Then dad screams wake up.
Mum screams wake up.
And sister screams wake up.
Then they all scream wake up!

And guess what
I still didn’t wake up!

The Wish

My sister and me
Just the two of us
Went looking for pets.

First we went to a lake
To search for a snake
But instead of a snake
We saw two beautiful fish,
Who gave us each a dish,
So we took them as a pet.

Then we went to some trees
There we found some monkeys.
Who gave us each a buggle gum?
To chew while we walk and run.
So we took some as a pet.

Then we went to the river Nile
To have a drink and rest for a while
Meanwhile we saw a crocodile.
Who gave us each a dead fish
So we took him as a pet

When we reach home we get mum
To cook the dead fishes
In the dishes

When we were about to take a bite
The fish said if you don’t eat us
We will grant you two wishes
So we took them as a pet!
