From My Diary
By Abul Qair Zafar Siddique
At one time I found a piece of paper placed on the table of my sons, Tavveerul Islam (181/2 years) and Tahseenul Islam (17 years). There was a penciled sketch of a man and a sentence “recognize if you can?” I immediately recognized that the writing and the sketched picture was of my son

Tanveerul Islam. Above it there were five couplets as following:
Where you want to go, everybody wants to know.
Where you want to fly, everyone wants to try.
Where you want to flight, there is not your right.
What you want to do, no one’ll let you.
What you want to make, God will cut your neck.

Having gone through the lines. I came to feel perhaps the discontentment is upon my and his mother’s queries. Where were you gone? Why had you gone? What were you doing there? I instantly recalled a story by an Indian English literate titled “Don’t Delve Deep” I discarded without any hitch the notion of interfering and picking a hole in another’s cost. But by contemplation of that he might misunderstand parent’s affectionate care for betterments, as well as he may develop sense of disappointment or dis acchivement in life. I produced some lines on the paper, which after 2 years I copied in my Diary. Perhaps the lines may be useful for youth.

Elders are not in ‘everybody’, They look after for your safety and benefit; Till you are well grown up and, Strong enough to resist evils of the world.

My dear! Be not jealous of others’ try, Let thousands to join, Enjoy your own fly and be happy; Don’t discontinue I,t even mountains come on the way, Rise higher and higher, Mountains will disappear. To fight to for good is not right of one, As many come they increase your cause and strength; If your fight is not merely a show, It will catch eyes and praises, of the sincere watchers.

Remember! Criticisms of the wise, are better than praises of the fools. How can a thousand rocks stop, A river to flow on its own path, A momentary blocked of rock, Truly stores its strength, For future; When it will push so hard that it frightens even mighy ones, who will want to remain there but, to surrender to the angry waters.

God has bestowed, Countless qualities and powers to man, To make His world a place of Beauty, A shelter for all, A place of peace.

He shows the way with his own examples Stars twinkle and puts to flight darkness, Rain gives life to the dead earth, Flowers amist scents; Who can explain them?

Air spreads scents from far and wide, Birds sing, leaves do make music, How can the Creator cut the neck For what He orders man to make, Now shake your ‘despair’, Then see the world, It will look you fine, beautiful and helping you.

It is you one else, Who make the meaning of ‘boldness’ either, ‘courage’ or ‘shamelessness’.
