“International Peace Festival”
1st, 2nd, and 3rd December 2006 in Mumbai

A few Mumbai based organisations under the banner of “Forum for Peace and Justice” in collaboration with Peace for Life – a Philippines based global solidarity network have taken the initiative to organise an International Festival on the theme ‘Peace and Justice’. The significance of this theme is very relevant especially in the context of war, conflict and crime against humanity. “Peace and Justice” aims to address the importance of justice and peace issues and raise public awareness using innovative and alternative means of communication– video films, street theatre, poster exhibitions, literature, etc. The thrust of the Festival will be based on perspectives and worldviews of rural and urban communities.

Viva Nasrollah Festival

The Viva Nasrollah International Festival is organised to commemorate the brave resistance of Hezbollah and the oppressed people of Lebanon and Palestine against the occupying regime of Israel. Initiated by Iran Pen Society, with the co-operation of Shahid Avini Cultural-Art Institute, the Festival welcomes poets, writers, song composers and other artists who have created works related to the Zionist occupiers. Al-Ameen Mission Completes 19 Years

The Al-Ameen Mission which was established in 1987 in a picturesque village on the bank of a river in Howrah district, located about 50 km away from Kolkata has completed 19 glorious years in service to the society. It is worthwhile to go through their new brochure that details the activities of this institution. “At present, it consists of five branches in five districts with residential facilities accommodating 1836 students including boys and girls in classes V to XII. This is an academic institution with a marked difference. Merit is the lone criterion for admission to any class or course,” says M.
