The Staff Selection Commission, Bangalore has invited applications for Junior Engineers (Civil and Electrical) Examination 2007 to be held throughout the country on March 27, 2007, for filling vacancies of junior engineer. The last date for receipt of filled in applications is December 22, 2006. The applications should be sent to the Regional Director, Staff Selection Commission, 1st Floor, E-Wing, Kendriya Sadan, Koramangala, Bangalore-34 (080-25521071). A few Mumbai based organisations under the banner of “Forum for Peace and Justice” in collaboration with Peace for Life – a Philippines based global solidarity network have taken the initiative to organise an International Festival on the theme ‘Peace and Justice’. The significance of this theme is very relevant especially in the context of war, conflict and crime against humanity. “Peace and Justice” aims to address the importance of justice and peace issues and raise public awareness using innovative and alternative means of communication– video films, street theatre, poster exhibitions, literature, etc. The thrust of the Festival will be based on perspectives and worldviews of rural and urban communities.
