Bringing Cheer in Colombo
The Discover Yourself Workshop was held in Colombo on June 25, 26 and 27, 2010. Here some of the participants share their experiences after the Workshop.

*The Workshop is Amazing, Inspiring and Different
* This workshop is awesome and it changed my whole life.
* I got the ability to practice patience.
* This is how Islam should be taught and I have realised the beauty of Islam now.

ALTAF: Before I came to the workshop I said: 'I cannot control myself'. Now it is 'I can'. I cannot believe, I am not getting angry. My face is every time happy. I feel I am living in a new world. When I raise my hands to Allah, I can feel a big difference. My dad asked me yesterday what I learnt. I told him I do not want to tell by word but by my behaviour. I am now living in the present and I am my word. This workshop is awesome and it changed my whole life, praise is to Allah.

RIZNI: I got the ability to practise patience. I would like to live like this until my last breath, and this state keeps me to take conscious decisions where I can choose. I got the ability of acceptance, sharing, how to talk to people, how to catch myself when I am unconscious, be thankful and surrender myself to Allah.

MAHBOOB: I feel relaxed. There was a particular land problem not solved since ten years and I solved it now. Regarding my son, I have completely changed my approach and Insha'Allah I feel I would be able to make an influence in his life.

NIZAM: I believe after attending the workshop that this should be imparted to everyone as basics but no one does. This is how Islam should be taught and I have realised the beauty of Islam now. It's like I am using a different sense in my life. I see life in a new perspective.

AYESHA: This workshop is excellent and wonderful. I did not want to attend, as I was preparing for my exams and I did not have time. My fiancée forced me to attend the workshop. The first day of the workshop did not impress me, but after going home and sharing I realised how valuable this workshop is and why my fiancée wanted me to attend. The second day was superb and wonderful. It was really interesting. The techniques used were excellent. I did not get bored sitting for 9 hours; it is unbelievable, as I could not sit for one hour at a lecture in the college. I will practice what I learnt until my last breath of my life.

ADIL: I was enlightened about the good in every human being. It is the simple task of removing the evil and that is our purpose. Also I was able to enter the world of surrender from which come solutions rather than answers.

IRSHAN: After the workshop I can feel the peace and tranquility. I understood the reality now and I am willing to surrender to Allah. I can control my nafs (ego). Now I know my position on the Earth.

ABDULLAH: It was an amazing, inspiring and a different workshop. I have benefited a lot.

FEROZA: This is an enlightening workshop. My family members could see the positive changes in me during these three days. It was a blessing to participate. I suggest the organisors to give large publicity.

AZRA: This workshop is useful and made me realise my faults and the source of all my faults. It has given me a chance to make a difference in my way of behaviour. Now I am careful with what choice I make. I think about it and identify if I am surrendering to will of Allah or not.

RIFAS: I was always a procrastinator. Now, I have realised the value of the present. Now, I am committed to focus on now, the present, in order to make my future bright. This workshop should also target non-Muslims.
