Indian Navy Artificer Apprentices Exam
The examination is held twice a year generally in the months of June and December as advertised in the Employment News and leading newspapers.
Eligibility Conditions: Unmarried Indian citizens are eligible.
Educational Qualifications: SSLC/ 10th std with Science and Mathematics with 60% or above marks in aggregate. Candidates with less than 60% marks in Matric may be recruited if they have secured 55% or more marks in aggregate in a higher board examination with Science and Math’s.
Age Limits: 15 to 18 years.
Physical Standards: Weight correlated to height and proportionate chest with minimum expansion of 5 cms. Good medical and physical health, free from any disease/disability. No cardio-vascular, surgical deformities or infection of ear. No history of fits or psychiatric ailment.
Minimum height: 157 cm. Minimum eye standard: Without glasses better eye 6/6 and worse 6/9.
Color perception: CP II.
Application Procedure: The eligible candidates may complete the application form as per format given in the Employment News on a plain paper either handwritten or typed. The application duly completed should be sent to the concerned Zonal Recruitment Offices by the prescribed date.
Selection Procedure
Eligible candidates will be called for the written examination in Science, Mathematics, General Knowledge, English
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualifying in the physical fitness is mandatory For enrolment. The standard of PFT is as follows:
1. One-mile (16 km) run to be completed in 7 minutes.
2. 20 squats (Uthak-Baithak).
3. 10 push-ups.
Indian Navy Dock Yard Apprentices Exam
This examination is held twice a year generally in the months of July and December, as advertised in the Employment Newspaper and leading newspapers.
Eligibility Conditions: Unmarried male Indian citizens are eligible.
Essential Qualification: SSLC / 10th pass.
Age Limits: 14 to 19 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST cand).
Physical Standards: Weight-45 kg (Maximum). Height 150 cm (Minimum) and well-developed chest with minimum expansion of 5 cm.
Application Procedure: Candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed Performa published in the Employment News to the nearest Recruitment Zone by the prescribed date.
Selection Procedure: Written examination of 100 marks each will be conducted in Mathematics and General Knowledge. The syllabus for the exam is as given below.
Mathematics
(a) Number system, Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and real numbers, Commutative, Associative and Distributive law, Fundamental operations-addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, Square root, Decimal fractions.
(b) Unitary method-application to simple and compound interest, time and distance, time and work, percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, averages, areas and volumes.
(c) Factors, Problems and Equations of Algebra:
General Knowledge and General Science: Abbreviations, Books and Authors, Facts about India and the World, Sports, Awards and Prizes, Everyday Science, short notes on various subjects in 100 words
Interview: Based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, candidates will be called for interview at Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Bangalore. Based on the performance of the candidates in the final interview, the selected candidates will be sent to Naval Dockyard School, Mumbai for training. Period of training is 3 years for most trades.
Indian Army Soldier Technical (M.E.R) Exam
This examination is held four times a year as advertised in the Employment News and leading newspapers.
Eligibility Conditions: Unmarried male Indian citizens (including those of Nepal) are eligible.
Essential Qualification: SSLC/ Matriculation or equivalent with Mathematics, English & Science.
Age Limits: 16 to 23 years.
Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms, relaxable for certain regions. Weight: 50 kg, relaxable for certain regions. Chest: 77/82 cm.
Application Procedure: Blank application forms are available, free of cost, at local Recruitment Offices, District Collector’s Office, Zila Parishads and Employment Exchanges. Candidates are at liberty to send their application on plain paper, handwritten/typed but as per format.
Selection Procedure:
Paper I (Time: 45 minutes-Max. Marks: I00) The eligible candidates are called for a written test in (i) General Intelligence; (ii) Mathematical Aptitude; and (iii) General Knowledge.
Paper II (Time: 45 minutes-Max. Marks: 100) In this paper, there are questions of about 30 marks in Physics, 20 marks in Chemistry and 50 marks of Mensuration (Areas and Volumes), Algebra, Trigonometry and Arithmetic, etc.
Note: Questions is these tests will be of the Objective type and bilingual, i.e., Hindi and English. Only those fit will be passed through Aptitude Test and Interview. Final selection will be on merit. Pay: About Rs.4000/-
Other Benefits: Free ration, clothing, accommodation and allied services, medical treatment for self and family, group housing scheme benefits, building loan facilities, canteen facilities, etc.
Promotion: A sepoy can become a Commissioned Officer subject to certain conditions. Numerous NCO/JCO posts have been created to improve career prospects and pensionary benefits.
Indian Army Soldier Nursing Assistants (M.E.R) Exam
This examination is held four times a year as advertised in the Employment News and leading newspapers.
Eligibility: Unmarried male Indian citizens (Including those of Nepal) are eligible.
Educational Qualifications: SSLC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology.
Age Limits: 16 to 23 years.
Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms, relaxable for certain regions. Weight: 50 kg, relaxable for certain regions. Chest: 77/82 cm.
Application Procedure: Blank application forms are available, free of cost, at local Recruitment Offices, District Collector’s Office, Zila Parishads and Employment Exchanges. Candidates are at liberty to send their application on plain paper, handwritten/typed but as per format.
Selection Procedure: Paper I (Time: 45 minutes-Max. Marks: 100). The eligible candidates are called for a written test in General Intelligence, Mathematical Aptitude, General Knowledge. Paper II (Time: 45 minutes Max. Marks: 100) In this about 50 marks questions on Chemistry and Physics and 50 marks questions on Biology are asked. In Chemistry section, there is stress on equations and numerical problems.

Indian Army Soldier General Duty (N.E.R) Exam
This examination is held four times a year generally as advertised in the Employment News and leading newspapers.
Eligibility Conditions: Unmarried male Indian citizens (including those of Nepal) are eligible.
Essential Qualification: SSLC/ Matriculation or equivalent with Mathematics, English and Science.
Age Limits: 16 to 21 years.
Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms, relaxable for certain regions. Weight: 50 kg, relaxable for certain regions. Chest: 77/82 cm.
Application Procedure: Blank application forms are available, free of cost, at local Recruitment Offices, District Collector’s Office, Zila Parishads and Employment Exchanges. Candidates are at liberty to send their application on plain paper, handwritten/typed but as per format.
Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be required for a written test in General, Intelligence, Mathematical Aptitude, General Knowledge. Questions in these tests will be Objective Type and bilingual, i.e., in Hindi and English. Time allowed is 45 minutes and maximum marks are 100. Only those found fit will be put through aptitude test and INTFRVIEW. Final selection will be on Merit.
Pay: About Rs. 4000.
