It shall be compulsory that the candidate should be able to clearly demonstrate his/her knowledge of reading, writing, understanding and teaching in Urdu Language for all teaching posts. However, in case of English/Hindi, it shall be preferable.
II. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Professor in Hindi, English, Public Administration, Business Management. An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and /or experience in research at the University/National Level institutions, including, experience of guiding research at doctoral level in the relevant subject.
OR
An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge.
Specialization for the post of Professor in English: Linguistics/ English Literature of the twentieth century
Specialization for the post of Professor in Business Management: Finance/Human Resource Management.
III. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Professor in Social Work
An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and /or experience in research at the University/National Level institutions, including, experience of guiding research at doctoral level in Social Work.
IV. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Professor in Education
No. of posts –03 (Headquarters –1, College of Teacher Education: Bhopal –1, Darbhanga –1)
M.Ed or M.A (Education) & Ph. D or equivalent published research work. At least 10 years experience of teaching in teacher education institutions at postgraduate level.

V. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Professor in Mass Communication & Journalism
An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and /or experience in research at the University/National Level institutions, including, experience of guiding research at doctoral level in Mass Communication & Journalism.
VI. Qualifications, Experience etc., for the post of Reader in Urdu, English, Persian, Arabic, Public Administration, Women Education, Business Management. Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work in the relevant subject. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, and F at the Master’s degree level.
Five years of experience of teaching and /or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
Specialization for the post of Reader in Urdu:
1) Deccani Literature/ New Criticism.
2) Linguistics/ A Bilingual candidate having good background of translation.
Specialization for the post of Reader in English: American Literature/ English literature of 17th Century.
Specialization for the post of Reader in Women Education: Law/ Social Sciences. A candidate with teaching experience in Women Studies will be preferred.
Specialization for the post of Reader in Business Management: Marketing/Finance/Human Resource Management.
VII. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Reader in Mass Communication & Journalism
1. P.G Degree in Communication/Mass Communication /Journalism from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
OR
Published work of doctoral standard or media production work of excellence.
2. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at Master’s level in the subject.
3. Eight years experience of teachers and /or research including up to three years for research degree and having made a mark in the area of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to education innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
OR
10 years full time work experience in any area of Mass Communication (News paper accredited with ABC,. National News Agencies, Radio or Television, Film media, reputed advertising agencies Public Relations Officers of the Government, Public Sector Undertakings and established Industrial and Commercial Houses).
Specialization: Communication / Radio Production / New Communication Media for Video Production.
VIII. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Reader in Social Work Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work in Social Work. Evidence of being actively engaged in (1) research or (2) innovation in teaching method or (3) production of teaching materials. Possess at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Master’s degree level.
About eight years experience of teaching, and/or research provided that at least five of these years were as Lecturers in an equivalent position.
OR
10 years of experience in field practice and professional publication based on work experience, and experience in training and /or field instruction., experience in consultation and documentation.
IX. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Reader in Education
No of post-06 (Headquarter –1, College of Teacher Education Bhopal –2, Darbhanga –2 & Srinagar (J&K) –1.
Good academic record with M.Ed or M.A (Education) & Ph.D or equivalent published research work Atleast 5 year’s experience of teacher education.
X. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Reader in Distance Education (History, English, Commerce, Geography)
Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks of an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, and F at the Master’s degree level.
Five years of experience of teaching and /or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
Desirable requirement: Candidate should have P.G Diploma in Distance Education and /or experience in Open Distance Learning Programme.
XI. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Reader in Distance Education (Education)
Good academic record with M.Ed or M.A (Education) & Ph.D or equivalent published research work Atleast 5 year’s experience of teacher education.
Desirable requirement: Candidate should have P.G Diploma in Distance Education and /or experience in Open Distance Learning Programme.
XII. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Lecturer in Urdu, Persian, Arabic, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women Education, Business Management
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, and F at the master’s degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University or, an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with PG Degree. However, the candidate having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for PG level and UG level teaching. Candidate having M.Phil in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for UG level teaching only.
Candidate having computer knowledge is preferable for Lecturer in Urdu.
Specialization for the post of lecturer in English: Post-colonial Literature/Literary theory and criticism.
Specialization for the post of lecturer in Women Education: Women Studies / Political Science/Sociology
Specialization for the post of lecturer in Business Management: Marketing/Finance/Human Resource Management.
XIII. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Lecturer in Mass Communication and Journalism
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks (or equivalent grade) at Master’s degree level or an equivalent qualification from an Indian or foreign University/ recognized institution in Communication/ Mass Communication and Journalism.
NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with PG degree. However, the candidate having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for PG level and UG level teaching. Candidate having M.Phil in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for UG level teaching only.
Specialization: Development Communication/ International and Intercultural Communication / Advertising & Market Research / Writing for Urdu Media/ Reporting, Writing, Editing for Print Media/ Communication Research.
XIV. Qualifications, Experience, etc., for the post of Lecturer in Social Work Good academic record with at least 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade) at Master’s degree level or an equivalent qualification from an Indian or Foreign University in the relevant subject.

Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, and F at the master’s degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University or, an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

XVII. Qualifications, Experience, etc., or the post of Lecturer in Distance Education (Education) Good academic record with M.Ed/M.A (Education) with 55% marks.
OR
Good academic record with Master’s Degree with 55% marks in the relevant school subject with M.Ed / M.A (Education) with 50% marks.
NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with PG Degree. However, the candidate having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for PG level and UG level teaching. Candidates having, M.Phil in the concerned subject are exempted from NET for UG level teaching only.
Desirable requirement: Candidate should have P.G Diploma in Distance Education and /or experience in Open Distance Learning Programme.
NOTE:
1. For the posts reserved for Physically Handicapped persons, the candidate’s minimum Physical disability should be 40 per cent and above. Proof, to this effect, must be enclosed to the hard copy of the application, without which application will not be considered.
2 A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% of the marks, at the Master’s level for the SC/ST category.
3. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D degree holders who have passed their master’s Degree prior to 19.09.1991.
4. B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, & F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed.
5. A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% for appointment as Lecturer may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination conducted by UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989. When the minimum marks required to appear for JRF exam were 50%.
GENERAL
i) The candidate should be able to clearly demonstrate his knowledge of reading, writing, understanding and teaching all subjects in Urdu language.
ii) Reservation for SC/STs in the posts of Lecturers exists as per the guidelines of the UGC. Candidates applying for the reserved post of Lecturer should clearly state to which category they belong. They must also enclose a copy of Caste Certificate issued by M.R.O./equivalent cadre; otherwise, the applications will be considered invalid and rejected without further consideration.
iii) The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for interview. The University reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed, or by any other condition that may deem fit.
iv) It would be open to the University to consider the names of suitable persons who may not have applied, but recommended by experts in their respective fields.
v) The University will have the right to relax any of the qualifications, experience and age, excepting those relating to the knowledge of Urdu, in deserving cases for all the posts.
vi) The statutory provision for relaxing of age, minimum qualification, experience etc. prescribed in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be made applicable to them.
vii) The number of vacancies indicated in the Employment Notification and this leaflet is tentative. The University reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of posts, at the time of selection.
viii) The panel of selected waitlisted candidates will be valid for one year from the date of selection and University shall make appointments on consequential /new vacancies.
ix) The University may offer lower post to a candidate who may have applied for a higher post in case suitable candidates are not available for the advertised posts.
x) Outstation candidates belonging to SC/ST categories called for interview will be paid contribution equivalent to return single second-class railway fare towards journey expenses on production of ticket numbers/proof.
xi) Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will disqualify such candidate.
xii) Selection will be made on the basis of candidates’ previous record and their performance in the interview. The University may utilize seminar or colloquium as a method of selection.
xiii) Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel failing which the application is liable to be rejected.
xiv) Separate applications should be submitted for each post.
xv) Experience and qualifications will be reckoned, as on 31.08. 2006 Good Xerox copies of all-important certificates must be attached with the application.
xvi) Applications incomplete in any respect will not receive any consideration at all.
xvii) No interim queries regarding test/interview/selection will be entertained.
xviii) University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if the circumstances so warranted.
xix) University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage.
xx) New pension scheme in accordance with the O.M.No.1 (13)/EV/2001, Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, dated 15.03.2004, will be applicable with subsequent amendments made or will be made from time to time.
Submissions of filled-in Applications:
i) SC/ST/PH candidates need not pay Registration Fee. ii) Filled-in application form along with application cost of Rs.50/- (for down loaded applications) and Registration Fee of Rs.200/- through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of the “Finance Officer”, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, on any Nationalized bank payable at Hyderabad and copies of other documents, certificates and publications should reach the Registrar, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Gachibowli, Hyderabad – 500 032, (A.P.) on or before 31.08. 2006 Applications received after the last date and without complete information or without requisite fee may not be entertained. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay.
