The 7th annual day celebration of Silicon City Public School marks the close of yet another rewarding academic year. Established with the sole objective of moulding the young minds to face the future challenges through self-discipline, high intellectual achievements and to provide quality education to the economically poor children under the banner of Sal Sabeel Educational Trust, our institution is doing a marvelous job to uplift and alleviate the underprivileged. Our school, which is permanently recognized by the department of public instruction, is making all the efforts to imbibe good qualities, ethics, values and virtues and foster peace, tolerance and harmony.
Our institution had a humble beginning in the year 2000, but today it has grown as a full-fledged institution with the total strength of 320 students and also has one more branch at Annasandrapalya with a strength of 80 students.
“All round development in a child” is one of our goals and the talents embedded in a child should be brought out, which is why, we started a literary association in the year 2006-07 under the able guidance of Mrs. Khatija Ahmed and Mrs. Shahida Akhter and they are well assisted by the other teachers too. This association provides valuable guidance and training by conducting essay, painting and drawing competition along with quiz programs, elocutions, and craft activities on all Saturdays. Because of this skill developments, our students started taking part in inter- school competitions like essay writing, painting, handwriting competitions and extempore that were sponsored by Horlicks Wiz - Bombay, Kala Bharati from Pune and Reliance company Bangalore. Juveriya and Asma Nikkat of Std X represented our school in leadership workshop. Syeda Asiya of Std IX secured Vth rank in the national level science talent examination and Ayesha Siddiqua of IX Std secured 6th rank and Mariyam Bi of IV std secured the 7th rank.
“All work and no play makes John a dull boy”. Hence physical education is not neglected. Under the able guidance of Mr. Mustaq Pasha (physical education teacher), students are trained to develop leadership quality, competitive spirit and sportsmanship. To develop scientific knowledge of the students we conduct many field trips visits to Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and Museum. Refreshing the mind is also one of our prime responsibilities. Hence we have arranged excursions from nursery classes to Std X.
Deeni Talim is given equal importance. Hence our children are prepared to face Deeniyat exams and quiz programmes that are conducted by Islamic oganizations as well as by Moulana Abdul Hassan Nadvi Islamic Academy from Bhatkal. 20 students won gold medals and 18 students won silver medals in the Arabic exams conducted by Islamic academy-Bhatkal. We would like to mention that even non muslims students are taking part in the Deeniyath examination. Last yea,r Sushma of X Std won a gold medal.
Lectures by eminent personalities from Alma Matar, counseling sessions by Miss. Lally Augustine and Mr. Benny of Montford college and seminars to motivate the students were arranged this year in order to help the students.
Health aspect is not forgotten. Hygiene and sanitation are given prime importance. Hence our management was kind enough to conduct Hepatitis-B vaccine camp and dental camp.
Out of 25 students who appeared for SSLC examination last year, two passed with distinctions, twelve students secured first class, eight students second class and only three students secured third class. For all these achievements the due credit goes to Nisar Ahmed Sahib and Ziaullah Khan Sahib for their untiring and relentless efforts.
